Gistful documentation

History and explicit rescans

Keep a reliable baseline and compare only like with like.

Rescans are explicit

Gistful does not run passive monitoring or automatic scans. You choose when to run your saved questions again.

When to rescan

Rescan after you have made a meaningful improvement to your public presence, such as updating a profile page, publishing an evidence-led guide, or adding a substantiated case study. Give public pages time to be available before you interpret a new result.

What History shows

History stores completed scans and lets you inspect their scope. Comparable scans can show changes in score, coverage, and answer evidence over time.

Why comparisons can be unavailable

A direct comparison is withheld when the saved questions, methodology, locale, profile scope, or engine coverage differ. This prevents an apparent improvement or decline from being manufactured by a changed measurement.
